Zealot R.I.P. are a hardcore supergroup that features members of Pig Destroyer, Darkest Hour, CombatWoundedVeteran, Frodus and Fairweather. That's a wide variety of bands, and Zealot R.I.P.'s music doesn't sound quite like any of them. Later this year, the D.C. crew will unleash their fercious debut LP, The Extinction of You, through the San Diego tastemakers, Three One G, and today we're proud to premiere its lead single.
Titled "Ambush Predator," the track is a minute-and-forty-three-second explosion that wraps the primal force of punk in a noisy, rickety and downright gnarly hardcore casing. In the video, the band rip through the song in a confined practice space, bringing to life its claustrophobic energy. Check it out above via YouTube.
"This song is about a human piece of garbage and one's overinflated ego," vocalist Blake Harrison says. "We hope you turn this up loud!"
The Extinction of You is out September 10th via Three One G, and vinyl pre-orders are live now. Check out the artwork and track listing below.
